World Cleanup Day – Make Space for Life!

On September 20, a large-scale environmental campaign was held at the “Samanid” Park in celebration of World Cleanup Day.

👁 The event was organized by the Bukhara Regional Department of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change, in cooperation with the Bukhara Regional Office of the Agency for Waste Management and Circular Economy Development.

➡️ The campaign brought together staff of the environmental department, representatives of the State Environmental Expertise, system organizations, as well as eco-volunteer students from the Volunteer Center of Bukhara State Pedagogical Institute. The participants actively contributed to cleaning the area from waste.

🥇 The most active participants were awarded commemorative gifts and certificates of appreciation.

🗣 The main objective of the event was to raise environmental awareness among the population, especially young people, promote cleanliness, and popularize international environmental practices.

ℹ️ For reference: World Cleanup Day was first initiated in Estonia in 2008 with the participation of 50,000 volunteers. Today, volunteers from more than 180 countries unite for one day with a common goal — to create a cleaner and healthier environment. In Uzbekistan, this initiative has been carried out since 2019.

🌱 Eco-volunteers of Bukhara State Pedagogical Institute are also among the active participants of this global initiative, contributing to a clean, green, and sustainable future.
